Design Story

- Style and innovation are, as always, the protagonists of Milan's design week, which transforms the city into a boundless exhibition.
Alongside the Salone del Mobile, scheduled from April 16 to 21 at Rho Fiera,
there are indeed many interesting initiatives and various exhibitions set up in
the so-called "Fuorisalone". It is also an opportunity for Technogym, a global leader in the wellness sector, to celebrate its 40 years of activity with the "Design To Move Exhibition" which will be held on the same days at its Milan headquarters on Via Durini.
For the occasion, 40 Benches customized by as many international designers and artists will be displayed. An exclusive happening of Design within what is considered a true Wellness oasis in the heart of Milan.

Among the various proposals, there is also the Bench by Walter De Silva, in collaboration with Mario Antonioli, with whom he decided to explore the world of wellness by interpreting the technologically advanced innovation of Technogym products with style and elegance."Pure White" is the name of this bench, referring to the white colour chosen to add a touch of elegance and purity to this object that integrates with the human being in the process of wellness, where the centre of action is focused on the body and mind. It is not simply a technical, compact, elegant, and multifunctional container to improve physical fitness in a comfortable and effective way, but "Pure White" wants to add an aesthetic interpretation to this home workout bench that moves away from purely decorative themes.
The design interpretation by De Silva and Antonioli has therefore focused particularly on an intervention on materials and the colour white in order to give the bench a visual lightness, made of natural light, achieving the idea of a transversal "movement" that also includes moments of reflection.
